Akita Vocal Music Collegium Canto Amsel

we are from Kita-Akita City, home to the World Cultural Heritage Site "Isedotai Ruins" and the rich changes of the four seasons.
Friends who love music in the region gather together and focus on opera performances. 2001, we formed a women's chorus group "Akita Vocal Music Study Group Canto Amselle" and have been active up to the present. In 2012, we represented Tohoku in the 35th National Okasan Chorus Competition held at the Bunkyo Civic Hall. In July 2022, we will perform an exchange concert with the Fiore Opera Association, featuring tenor Toshiaki Murakami; in August, we will repeat the exchange concert at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan; in October, we performed "Hansel and Gretel" with the ballet company in a commemorative performance at the Akita Arts Theater Milhous. In October, we performed "Hansel and Gretel" with the ballet troupe.

Yumiko Misawa

Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Voice. Studied voice under Atsuko Inoue, Risaburo Tsukiji, and Akiya Fukushima. She made her debut as Cherubino in "The Marriage of Figaro" performed by the Akita Prefecture Opera Association, and founded the Akita Vocal Music Study Group in 1988. In 1988, she founded the Akita Vocal Music Study Group, of which she is currently the president. She has been involved in the planning, production, and performance of "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Carmen" for several years. In the last few years, she has been especially devoted to teaching female chorus groups, and has participated in five national competitions in the mothers' chorus division, winning the Sunflower Award, the highest award, twice. In 2008, she received the "30th Kiuchi Music Award (Music Division). In addition to the Akita Vocal Music Study Group, she also directs the female chorus group Ru Soreiyu, Chor Moriyoshi, and the Shiokaze Chorus, among others. She is the vice-chairperson of "Akita no Chiiki Bunka wo Sakasemasu Kai" (Let Akita's Local Culture Bloom). She is also a permanent director of the Akita Chorus Association.
