ICC Mitaka Junior Choir
"CC is the abbreviation for Iguchi Chorus Circle.
The choir was founded at Iguchi Elementary School in Mitaka City, Tokyo, about 20 years ago. We have been performing at various contests and recitals, aiming to reach the hearts of the listeners.
Junior and senior high school students ,university students ,who graduated from the elementary school have come to support and teach.The place where they grew up singing together as elementary school students is also a treasure for graduates.
The ICC is an important place for us.
Afterwards,graduates and elementary school students started singing together, and the multigenerational ICC Mitaka Junior Choir was formed.
The Choir received two Gold Prizes in the 3rd Tokyo International Choir Competition of the Children's Choir J and S.
In 2022、We began singing mixed choir and won Silver Prizes in two categories: children's voices and youth section mixed choir at the 2023 Tokyo Spring Chorus Contest.
Miwako Sato
Graduated from the Tokyo Gakugei University of Music Department.
Studied vocal music under Yoshiharu Nakamura, choral conducting under Eiichi Ito.
After graduation, appointed as a music teacher at Tokyo public elementary school,studied Saito’s conducting method under Masamitsu Takahashi.
Since 2009, she directs the ICC choir.The choir won the Gold Prize in the Tokyo qualification round of the NHK Competition from 2014 to 2018.
In 2018, won the Silver Prize in the NHK Competition Tokyo Finals.
In 2019, won the 1st place Gold Prize and the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education Prize in Tokyo Spring Chorus Contest.
