Chor SONASO

Chor SONASO (合唱団そうなそ) was established in April 2015 by Yumi Sasaki (佐々木 優実) in Yamaguchi, Japan. The choir aims to invigorate the choral scene in Yamaguchi by performing choral works from various eras and regions. The choir has achieved considerable succes s, winning the Gold Prize in the Yamaguchi Prefectural Choral Competition seven times, including three Contest Grand Prizes. Additionally, the choir received the Bronze Prize at the 11th and 14th Fukushima Vocal Ensemble Competition and was honored as the Category Winner (Category D: Chamber Choir) at the 5th Tokyo International Choir Competition.
佐々木 優実
A sopranist born in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. She graduated from Yamaguchi University Faculty of Humanities and Oita Junior College of Arts and Culture Department of Music. She won the first prize in the 23rd Sakura Pia Competition and the 49th Oita Prefecture Music Competition, Department of Vocal Music. In 2015, She founded Chor SONASO and has been representing the choir since then. She is a member of Noema Noesis, the Japan Chamber Choir, and Matinee of the Five Youths. She participated in the JCA Youth Choir (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 11th), the JCA Youth Choir Tolosa Performance Tour (2019), and the World Youth Choir 2019.
中島 拓海
A choral singer and conductor born in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Yamaguchi University. Initiated into choral activities at the age of 10,when he joined a local children's choir. He is a former student conductor of the Yamaguchi University Mixed Choir (2018-2019) and has been the conductor of Chor SONASO since 2018.The representative ofYamaguchi "Patriot Singers".
He also engages inchoral arranging and composition, Notably, in March 2024, he premiered the a cappella mixed choir suite "Fumiya (文也)" based on the Poetry of Nakahara Chuya(中原中也)at Chor SONASO's 5th Concert.
