Ying Wa Girls' School Choir

As an established girls’ school’s choir in Hong Kong, Ying Wa Girls’ School’s Choir has appeared frequently in public performances and competitions, achieving acclaims from the audiences. Consisting of students aged 12 to 17, the choir is a frequent prize winner in local competitions and has participated in international choral festival which included the 10th Bratislava International Youth Music Festival, achieving the Diploma of Gold Band. The choir has explored repertoire of various styles and has performed a wide range of repertoire which include contemporary pieces, chamber and religious works, performing in events such as school concerts, masterclasses, exchange programme and religious services. Members also form chamber choral groups and a cappella ensemble to promote choral music in various performances to the public and in school.

Leung Sing Yan Matthew

Graduating from the Royal College of Music, London with the Master degree in Music, Matthew has been an active conductor and music educator. As the music director of Ying Wa Girls’ School’s Choir and Orchestra, he has led the groups in competitions and performances, winning prizes and acclaims from the public. He was the guest conductor of the Hong Kong Oratorio Society and has also led various schools to gold prizes and champions in competitions. Matthew had served on the Executive and Music Committee of the Hong Kong Schools Speech and Music Association, and is currently a member of the Music committee of the HKEAA and HKDSE.
