Launched in 2003, the Ever Green Voce is an all female choir based in Tama City, Tokyo. Under conductor Ruriko Yanagida's guidance the members, most of whom had no previous experience with choral singing, discovered the sheer joy of singing together. In time the group reached the point where they could perform intricate, full-fledged choral music.
In 2019 and then again in 2021, they won the Margaret Award at the All Japan Okaasan Choral Tokyo Branch Competition. In 2023, they took first prize in the long-awaited Branch Competition Award.
The energetic performances and delightful harmonies display a deep bond between the members, who together have overcome many hardships on and off stage. The conductor's global perspective is wonderfully supported by the talented pianist, Makiko Oka.
