The UM Chorale is the official choral group of the University of Mindanao, founded in 1993. In 2009 and 2015, the group won first place in the NAMCYA Adult Choir Category. The group received two Grand Prix awards in a row at the 9th Orientale Concentus in Singapore in 2016, and the 13th Busan Choral Festival & Competitions in 2017. In 2018, the group won two categories as a Grand Prix finalist in the first Tokyo International Choir Competitions. The UM Chorale had their first foreign concert series at the Taipei International Competition Festival in August 2022. And in 2023, the group was hailed as the Grand Champion of the Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival - Mixed Category qualifying them for the upcoming Asia Choral Grand Prix in Singapore this coming 2025. The group's vision is to deliver excellent performances, showcasing a variety of songs, to represent Mindanao culture and our country, the Philippines.

Timothy Paul Atencio

Mr. Timothy Paul Atencio joined the University of Mindanao Chorale in 2013 and also served as the group's assistant conductor during the national and international competitions that the group competed in from 2015 to 2018. He became the official conductor of the UM Chorale in 2018 and has been a member of the Philippine Choral Directors Association.
