The University of the Philippines Los Baños Choral Ensemble (UPLBCE) is the resident choral group of the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Established in 1991, the ensemble is composed of students and alumni of the university, aiming to promote artistic awareness through choral music amidst a scientific community. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from classical music to contemporary masterpieces and also includes popular and folk music from around the world. UPLBCE has traveled on successful tours in Asia, Australia, and Europe, participating in festivals and bagging awards in competitions in China, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Germany.

Roijin Suarez

Roijin Galauran Suarez, UPLBCE's conductor since 2017, steered triumphs at various international choral festivals. Under his baton, the group seized the Orientale Concentus Grand Prize in Singapore and topped the Andrea O. Veneracion Festival, securing entry to the 1st Asia Choral Grand Prix. In 2019, Roijin guided victories at CantaRode in the Netherlands (Second Prize) and Marktoberdorf in Germany (First Prize), becoming one of the youngest to achieve such acclaim. Recently, he led UPLB Choral Ensemble to winning the 1st Asia Choral Grand Prix. Beyond conducting, Roijin shares expertise through nationwide lectures, workshops, and choral clinics, enriching amateur choirs.
