Taiwan

Ching-Yun Choir was founded in 1973. It’s one of the oldest choirs in Taiwan, having been directed by conductors including Dr. Chiafen Weng, currently the president of Taiwan Choral Association. Under its artistic director and conductor Dr. Cheng-pu Chang, Ching-Yun has in recent years actively worked toward the goal of expressing various aspects of choral music. In chamber choral performances, Ching-Yun included music from different periods and countries in a variety of styles, ranging from Taiwanese aboriginal and Hakka choral works, Cuban contemporary, European contemporary and part songs, to Philippine folk songs. The choir’s other international footprints included the 2023 International Choral Competition of Tolosa, 2017 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, and Singapore International Choral Festival in 2014.
