Nibun Chorus, founded in 2017, takes its name from the Bunun word "Nibun," meaning "tooth." Affiliated with the Kaohsiung Nibun Association, we aim to inspire local youth to connect with their roots and give back to their communitiesthrough music. We are also committed to preserving local culture by collecting and re-arrangingsongs from indigenous, Hakka, Taiwanese new immigrants, and Hokkien traditions, contributing to cultural preservation. Nibun Chorus has achieved remarkable milestones since its founding. In 2018, we won a Golden Diploma in “Folklore with Accompaniment” at the World Choir Games in South Africa. In 2019, we performed in Palau for the 20th anniversary of Taiwan-Palau diplomatic relations. In 2020, we were invited by the Presidential Office to perform at the Presidential Concert at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. In 2023, we joined music exchange concerts in Japan and earned a Golden Diploma at the 12th World Choir Games. In July 2024, we won two gold medals in “Folklore with Accompaniment” and “Contemporary Music - Mixed Voices” at the 13th World Choir Games. Later, we were honored to lead the National Anthem at the 113th National Day Ceremony.
