The Penang Chinese Girls’ Primary School Choir, consisting of 66 students aged 10 to 12, is dedicated to promoting domestic music culture and expanding its musical reach globally. Under the leadership of Madam Ong Geok Cheng, the choir has earned numerous awards and participated in prestigious international music festivals across countries such as Busan, Beijing, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Bali, and Taipei. These experiences offer valuable cultural exchange opportunities and showcase the choir’s exceptional talent on the world stage. Among their many accolades, the choir has received multiple Gold Awards in the Children Choir category at events like the Singapore International Choral Festival (2015), Hong Kong Winter Choral Festival (2017), and Grand Prix Thailand (2018). They also earned fourth place in the Youth Choir category at the 2019 Busan Choral Festival, along with consistent Gold Awards at competitions like the CCTV Youth Spring Festival Gala (2019) and the MCE International Choir Festival (2022). Most recently, they won the Gold Award at the 2024 Taipei International Choral Competition. These achievements reflect the choir's exceptional talent and the dedicated guidance of Madam Ong Geok Cheng.

ONG GEOK CHENG
Madam Ong Geok Cheng, a 2006 Monash University music graduate, specialized in Music Performance and Musicology. Trained under renowned Australian vocalists, she earned distinction for her Graduate Recital and actively participated in choir performances. Returning to Penang, Malaysia, she established a music academy focusing on choir and vocal coaching. As a conductor, her choirs consistently won Gold Medals in national and international competitions. Notable achievements include multiple Gold Awards, “Category Champion” titles, and “Best Conductor” accolades in events like the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod and China Youth Spring Festival Gala. Her expertise now sees her frequently invited as a competition judge.
