The Seisen Senior High School Choir is a distinguished ensemble from Seisen Academy, an integrated private Catholic girls' school located on the historic grounds of Tamanawa Castle in Kamakura, surrounded by lush greenery. Founded by the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Spain, the school is part of a global network of 50 sister schools. Established in 1949, the choir has a rich tradition of excellence. It actively participates in a variety of events, including local city performances, cultural exchanges with overseas choirs, charity concerts, and the East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Concert. The choir is also known for its dedication to premiering new works and has released CDs distributed nationwide. The choir's have achieved remarkable success, including 12 Gold Prizes at the All-Japan Chorus Competition National Finals. In 2024, it won the Gold Prize at the NHK National School Music Contest. On the international stage, the choir has received numerous accolades, including: 1st place in the Grand Prix selection at the Austria Open Competition (2013), the Bad Ischl International Choir Competition (2015), and the "RIGA SINGS" International Competition (2018).The choir's outstanding performances have earned it a high ranking in international evaluations and cemented its reputation as a leading ensemble in the global choral community.

Mikiko Sato

Mikiko Sato has served as the director of the Seisen Junior & Senior High School Choir, has also led the alumnae choir "La Pura Fuente." Under her leadership, these ensembles have achieved remarkable success, including 29 Gold Prizes at the All-Japan Chorus Competition National Finals. On the international stage, Mikiko Sato has garnered further acclaim, securing the Grand Prix and the Best Conductor Award at prestigious international competitions. In recognition of these outstanding achievements, she was honored with the Kanagawa Prefectural Award for Distinguished Contributions to Education.Currently, Mikiko Sato serves as Vice Chairman of the Kanagawa Choral Federation.
