Sinapalan Elementary School is located in a Bunun tribe of Sinyi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, at 900m above sea level. Even though the students are gifted in music and arts, due to lack of professional art teachers in these areas, it has affected the opportunity of learning, development, and performing for the children. Fortunately, with the sponsorship of the Council of Indigenous Peoples and Taipei Rosyclouds Foundation for Education, Sinapalan Children’s Chorus was established with professional conductor to assist in developing the students’ music talent in 2013. Since then, chorus members’ passionate voices could be heard and bright confident smiles seen on stage. The chorus began to won excellent grades in the National Music Competition since 2014. The chorus has won the High Distinct Award for 5 consecutive years in the National Music Competition since then. We believe that the children will shine on whatever life stage they will be on in the future. We also wish that Sinapalan Elementary School would be the incubator of all the tribal children’s dreams.
