Chor SONASO

Chor SONASO (合唱団そうなそ) was established in 2015 by Yumi Sasaki (佐々木 優実) in Yamaguchi, Japan. The choir aims to contribute to the cultural vibrancy of Yamaguchi by performing choral works that span different eras and regions. The choir has achieved significant recognition, winning the Gold Prize at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Choral Competition eight times, including three Grand Prizes. At the Tokyo International Choir Competition, the choir won 1st place in the Chamber Choir Category at the 5th competition and 2nd place in the same category and a “Big Wave Prize” at the 6th competition.

Kosei Yonezawa

A choral singer and conductor born in Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Yamaguchi University. He has been the conductor of “Chor SONASO” since 2015. Additionally, He is a founder of Hofu Choral Society “Pirorum” and also a member of “Matinee of the Five Youths”, Men's Vocal Ensemble “Tera-Otoko (寺漢)”, and Noema Noesis. He participated in the JCA Youth Choir (5th, 11th, and 12th) and the JCA Youth Choir Tolosa Performance Tour (2019).

Yumi Sasaki

A soprano singer born in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. She graduated from Yamaguchi University Faculty of Humanities and Oita Junior College of Arts and Culture Department of Music. In 2015, She founded “Chor SONASO” and has served as its representative ever since. She is a member of Noema Noesis, Japan Chamber Choir, and “Matinee of the Five Youths”. She participated in the JCA Youth Choir (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 11th), the JCA Youth Choir Tolosa Performance Tour (2019), and the World Youth Choir 2019.
