The Pelicans is a Hong Kong a cappella group formed by enthusiastic singers dedicated to supporting charitable events. After their public debut in July 2015, in December 2016, they participated in the concert "Christmas Carols with Paul Phoenix and Friends". It was a full house and the concert also raised some funds for the conservation and maintenance of the historical teak and rosewood rattan pews in the St John’s Cathedral. In 2017, they continued to be active and were featured in the “Celebrating Hong Kong” service with the attendance of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Ms Carrie Lam. Later in December, they were privileged to be invited by the Harmonia choir in Beijing and performed at the Beijing Concert Hall with conductor Professor Ms Wu Lingfen. They continued to be active after COVID and their last concert was held in 2018 to raise fund for a local group called “The Variety” which focuses on unprivileged children’s mental health. Since their debut in 2015, they have raised over HK$5 million for different people in Hong Kong. The group’s music director is Mr. Dominic Lam and the music composer and arranger in residence is Mr. Ernest Hui.
